about me.

HEY, I’M RACHAEL. I’M FILM IMPACT PRODUCER AND CAMPAIGNS EXPERT WHO USES STORYTELLING TO BRIDGE THE GAP BETWEEN MEDIA AND ADVOCACY.

I LEAD IMPACT CAMPAIGNS ACROSS SEVERAL FILMS, BUILDING STRATEGIES THAT TURN POWERFUL VIEWING EXPERIENCES INTO MEANINGFUL ACTION.

MY WORK INCLUDES SPEARHEADING CAMPAIGNS FOR AWARD-WINNING, OSCAR-NOMINATED FILMMAKER WAAD AL-KATEAB (FOR SAMA (ACTION FOR SAMA), WE DARE TO DREAM, DEATH WITHOUT MERCY), AND GAZA: DOCTORS UNDER ATTACK. THESE PROJECTS HAVE REACHED GLOBAL AUDIENCES AND CENTERED COMMUNITIES WHOSE STORIES DEMAND TO BE HEARD.

WITH A BACKGROUND ACROSS CORPORATE AND CREATIVE SECTORS, I’VE ALSO WORKED WITH ORGANISATIONS SUCH AS MERCY CORPS AND GIRL EFFECT TO LEAD MAJOR ADVOCACY AND REBRANDING EFFORTS. I FOUNDED 60 POSTCARDS, A PROJECT CREATED AFTER MY MUM’S DEATH THAT OPENED CONVERSATIONS ABOUT GRIEF AND REMEMBRANCE. FIRST SHARED AS A BLOG AND LATER PUBLISHED AS A BOOK, IT ILLUSTRATES HOW PERSONAL STORYTELLING CAN BUILD COMMUNITY ACROSS BORDERS.

film projects.

  • For Sama is an intimate portrait of life under siege in Aleppo, told by Waad al-Kateab as a love letter to her daughter. Blending family moments with the brutal reality of war, it became one of the most acclaimed documentaries of its year, winning the Cannes L’Oeil d’Or, a BAFTA, and earning an Academy Award nomination.

  • We Dare to Dream, directed by Waad al-Kateab, follows refugee athletes from Syria, Iran, South Sudan and Cameroon as they train, struggle and hope for a place on the Olympic stage. Executive produced by Angelina Jolie and John Legend, the film is a powerful portrait of resilience and the universal drive to rebuild a life with dignity against all odds.

  • Death Without Mercy, directed by Waad al-Kateab, follows two Syrian families in the aftermath of the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake as they search for loved ones beneath the rubble. Using CCTV, drone and first-person footage, the film exposes the scale of the disaster and the government failures that deepened the tragedy — a stark, human portrait of loss and the demand for accountability.

  • Gaza: Doctors Under Attack, directed by Karim Shah, investigates the assaults on Gaza’s hospitals and the targeting and detention of healthcare workers. Through eyewitness testimony and frontline documentation, it exposes the collapse of medical infrastructure and the human cost borne by those trying to save lives under relentless bombardment.
